Decision making in Utrecht
Early in 2007, the founder and director of the Cortona Contemporary Music Festival invited Anne to give extensive career workshops at the 3rd festival in July. She replied,”I would love to but I don’t want to go without Robert. Could he be your sound engineer and record the performances?”

Thus it was agreed that Anne would give 5 one hour workshops plus individual consultations to the participants and Robert would bring his microphones and Mac powerbook to record the concerts.

In late March, Anne and Robert booked their return flights from Eindhoven (famous for Phillips headquarters) to Pisa (leaning tower) and then from Rome to Eindhoven on Ryan Air in late March, thus fixing their summer plans. Eindhoven is less than one hour direct and fast train ride from Utrecht (4th largest city in Holland) where they live. Eindhoven Airport is a 10 minute bus ride from the station.

In June, the festival director sent a piano guitar piece by a Hong Kong Chinese composer for them to consider performing at the festival. The duo decided to add another new piece by Utrecht-based composer Henk Alkema. Thus the bonus: premier two new pieces for piano guitar duo!

Welcome to Viva Italia!
We finally understood why so many of our friends are mad about Italy. After the second consecutive summer in Tuscany, we cannot imagine not going back. Here is our photo album made in iWeb with music selections from Cortona.
